Enable FIPS mode on TeraStation 7010/5020 series

Applies to TeraStation 7010 series firmware v1.30 or later
5020 series firmware v1.66 or later

The TeraStation can activate Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS)-certified encryption that has been validated by Cryptographic Algorithm Validation Program (CAVP).
If FIPS mode is enabled, the TeraStation will use FIPS 140-2 compliant cryptographic algorithms for drive encryption and SFTP, and some of the affected features will face the following restrictions:

1.    From TeraStation WebUI, click Management tab.
Click the settings icon to the right of “Security/Encryption”.

2.    Click the FIPS tab and select “Enable FIPS mode”, then click Apply.

3.    The “Confirm Operation” screen will open. Enter the confirmation number, then click OK.

4.    The TeraStation will need to be restarted. Click Yes to restart the TeraStation.
If you select “No”, make sure you restart the TeraStation at a later time to apply FIPS mode settings.

5.    Click Yes again to confirm the restart command.

6.    Enter the confirmation number, then click OK to restart.
