BUFFALO SETTLES INFRINGEMENT ACTION BY CSIRO

AUSTIN, TX – July 13, 2009 – Buffalo Technology, a global leader in the design, development and manufacturing of wired and wireless networking, storage and memory solutions today announced the settlement of a patent infringement action brought by Commonwealth Scientific Industrial Research Organization (“CSIRO”), the Australian science agency.
In February 2005, the Australian science agency CSIRO sued Buffalo Inc. and its US affiliate Buffalo Technology (USA) Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, alleging that Buffalo’s products infringed its U.S. Patent 5,487,069, which concerns Wi-Fi technology relating to the transmission of wireless signals.
Recently, Buffalo and CSIRO have decided to settle upon terms that were mutually agreeable and reasonable to both parties. The settlement agreement resolves CSIRO’s infringement allegations and permits Buffalo’s sale of IEEE 802.11 compliant products throughout the world.
